App stores charge money for mobile ‘apps’ and nobody flinches because they’re not viewed as part of the Web. Desktop software enjoys the same general perception.
What Would We Pay For In Today’s Web? (via marco)
Well, I haven’t read the article, but I would say I pay for Flickr Pro, but Vimeo Pro is a little steep for a casual user like me. I wish, for example, Vimeo had a middling price option for those of us who just want higher quality regular video.
I don’t think paying for a web service is ludicrous, it just needs to make sense to me for my needs.
